Training for Reigning

Romans 5:17
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:17
And if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Revelation 5:10
“You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

Revelation 22:5
And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.

The Kingdom of God is first ETERNAL, then it becomes INTERNAL in us, and then EXTERNAL through us.

3 Principles of Training for Reigning

#1 God Chooses To Ruthlessly Perfect His Sons and Daughters So They Can Reign In Life.

I Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

I Samuel 16:12-13
So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon David from that day forward. And Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

The higher the task the harder the training. The more rigid the requirement the more rigorous the regiment or routine.

#2 God’s Anointing For Reigning In Life Is Developed In The Crucible of Time and Tribulation.

I Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

I Samuel 16:14-16
Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD terrorized him. Saul’s servants then said to him, “Behold now, an evil spirit from God is terrorizing you. “Let our lord now command your servants who are before you. Let them seek a man who is a skillful player on the harp; and it shall come about when the evil spirit from God is on you, that he shall play the harp with his hand, and you will be well.”

I Samuel 16:19-20
So Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, “Send me your son David who is with the flock.” Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread and a jug of wine and a young goat, and sent them to Saul by David his son.

FAITHFULNESS IN NATURAL THINGS BRINGS REVELATION IN SPIRITUAL THINGS!
A sure sign of the anointing isn’t signs and wonders performed but trouble and tribulation with a lot of time passing by.

EVERY revelation, anointing, vision or dream will be tested by time and tribulation.
NO QUICK FIXES

David did 3 things differently than Saul.
-He practiced singing to the Lord in Worship
-He practiced slinging for the likelihood of war
-He practiced shepherding for his life’s work

#3 Summiting To Authorities and Serving Faithfully In The Assignments Prepares You To Reign In Life.

I Samuel 16:23
So it came about whenever the evil spirit from God came to Saul, David would take the harp and play it with his hand; and Saul would be refreshed and be well, and the evil spirit would depart from him.

John Mason was right when he said, “No one achieves greatness without being of service. The roots of happiness grow deepest in the soil of service.”

Matthew 23:11
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. God isn’t looking for, nor does He need your ability, only your availability and dependability.
