Genesis 1:2-3
The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.
John 1:5, 7-9
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 7He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. 8He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. 9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
John 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

Questions:

1.   Share which one of the three has recently impacted your life.
• Jesus is the way - taking believers to the Fathers House
• Jesus is the truth - revealing the Fathers Heart
• Jesus is the life- connecting the Father and His life to us.

2.  Is the Life of the Father evident in your life? How so ? (Paul shared of his life in Acts 29 and the blind man in John 9.)

3. Pastor Paul stated that, "Some define light as the absence of darkness." Share with your Life Group a time in your life when you experienced darkness and how you were able to emerge from that darkness through Jesus help.

4. The main points of Sunday's message were:
• Light Scatters Darkness
• Light Gives Warmth
• Light Gives Direction
Which of these points stuck out to you and why?

5. As believes we are called to be like Jesus Christ (a light in the world). What can you do to become a brighter light to those around you?

Who is Jesus?

I AM the Light of the World

1st – Light Scatters Darkness.

He vanquishes
• Sin
• Spiritual blindness
• Oppression
• Death
• Hell
• The grave
• ANY spiritual bondage.

2nd – Light Gives Warmth.

Isaiah 60 says,
“No longer will you have the sun for light by day,
Nor for brightness will the moon give you light;
But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,
And your God for your glory.
“Your sun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning will be over.

3rd – Light Gives Direction.

Psalm 119:105
God’s Word is a lamp for our feet and light for our path.

John 12:35
“A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.”

What happens to those who follow Him?
1st - they shall never be lost.
2nd - the believer shall have the Light of life.
3rd - the result of following the Light of the world is being a light yourself.
